Reach Studies All About Bread

ELP at Reach explores the bread study!

Reach ELP students making breadAt the ELP at Reach Opportunity Center at Summit Lake the preschool class in room 2 has decided to do a Bread Study. With the guidance of student teacher, Miss Kessah, and  teacher, Mrs. Humphrey,  the students have been baking all things bread related! So far the class has made their own muffins, with cornbread being the class favorite, a Native American bread called Bannock using 3 ingredients, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The students have enjoyed working together to bake the treats and then getting to taste their delicious treats. Through the various baking activities the students have also been learning what a recipe is and how to follow one. Next up the class will be writing their own bread recipes in small groups, making the bread, tasting everyone's creations, and then voting on the best bread recipe!
